Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Engineers and conductors can strike already

The railroad labor act has already been exhausted. We can perform self help strike already. Our Unions won't tell you this .this status quo is nothing more than the union and the company trying to keep us from striking but yes we can strike and it should be done before the elections. It must be done in a show of force from our members.

Union bashing?
All of a sudden everyone has forgotten who they work for and who put them in a position of power.

Ge-z guys!
The ADM plant workers who are Teamsters just ratified a 3 year contract to ours, and they got additional 40 hours sick more a year plus 5,000 retroactive and 6 percent raise.

We got some screwed up negotiators on our behalf for both BLET and SMART.
Sold-out for millions guaranteed by Ferguson. Our anti strike IP.

I don't think the unions are 'ecstatic' but I am gravely disappointed that for over 30yrs the unions, the aflcio neither have not pushed for legislative changes for individual rights to strike w/o any govt intervention that helps the companies. It is my opinion if small groups in a union could strike locally against just one a$$ho-e manager or if one crew board was turning way too often then that entire board could strike officially and quickly w/o repercussions this would be a better place to work. At this point its a forceful take it or leave it scenario instead of the trying to work issues out locally. What works in CA might not be what works in MT. Managers would treat their agreement employees alot better if it reflected directly upon that individual managef if only their work group was calling a strike in refusal to being mistreated and or pressured to be overworked. The hotlines don't work, submitting claims and filing grievances doesn't work. The only thing causing the carrier to even think about treating employees better is those who quit. It benefits neither side to have employees give up and not come back.

I can't wait for my raise to be swallowed up by my more expensive health insurance and union dues, oh and don't forget RRBs cut. One step forward, two steps back. Been that way since I started.

Where do you live that gas is 6 dollars a gallon? Maybe parts of California, but not in the rest of the U.S. I don’t believe the unions are happy with work more, pay less as you say. I am sick of the union bashing by some on here. The union aren’t perfect, but without them you would be making half of what you are now.

What for?
The union is ecstatic over the work more get paid less deal.
Strike for more time off so we can make even less when gas is $6 a gallon?

Voting No!!! Is the first step in letting the Unions and the carriers know we demand more.
All legitimate options start with a No vote.
