UPDATE: Upper management has said by Memorial Day the cuts will be done and in one shot, meaning no layoffs after that.

At NYP Columbia, was laid off yesterday. Still saw my patient in the morning and learned the laid off news in the afternoon. So heartless and crazy.
I was told by boss we will know by Friday so yeah it’s true. But ½ my team is out on Friday due to holiday. Soooo how are they to know????
Just so wrong. Upper mgmt knew what was going on & did nothing and they get to keep jobs while people making not a million are getting laid off
Beaker is Epic’s Lab Informations System application. Right now we are using Cerner and CoPath but in December will be transitioning to Epic. Once all our EHR systems are on Epic the demand for the headcount in Clinical IT just won’t be needed. I see at least a 10% cut in headcount come Q1 2026 for the Department.
What is the beaker implementation? Am in Columbia and haven’t heard about it.
There will be mass layoffs for Clinical IT at 466 after the Beaker implementation. Save this post and take it to the bank. Mark my words.
