Thread regarding Siemens layoffs

Thoughts on Q2 Hiring Freeze?

The DX Transformation as a whole aimed to save 300M last year. Now we are to find another 340M? How much more can the business really gut before we see mass layoffs, particularly in Varian and IVD?

I'm expected to inform my team tomorrow about an indefinite pause to the HEART program, forced usage of vacation time, and a hiring freeze. We're barely staffed as it is.

Those of you also in Varian, or even diagnostics, I'm interested in your thoughts. Are your teams stretched as thin as mine?

@OP Yes extremely stretched. We're a customer facing team and we can't cover all shifts. But I also talk with my peers in support functions and they act as though nothing is happening. They're clearly still overstaffed as they've got people who barely need to work at all. And honestly just forget about getting anything out of colleagues in Germany. I see a lot of opportunity to reduce still, but they won't touch countries that have worker protections. Also a little sick of hearing the field staff complain that they JUST HAVE TO HAVE their monthly team dinners at expensive restaurants.
