Pega Evaluating Appian Takeover

Insiders at Pega are evaluating buying the company and ousting the 4 founders who have grossly mismanaged the company. Insiders say that Appian is no longer competitive to Pega and might as well get something for the few customers they have remaining, so they do not need to declare bankruptcy. It is also rumored that Appian has no chance of winning the lawsuit against Pega, as their product is and always has been inferior. Competitors are passing Appian in the recent analyst rankings, and it is only a matter of time before they see even more customer attrition. If accurate, this will be a welcome change for the remaining employees suffering under Matt and his lost management team.

I wonder if Chris Winters ever paid back the $1m bonus he was given for winning the law suit against Pega in the first place. I suspect not!

Make no mistake, this forum is the epicenter for Appianites, with topics frequently surpassing 1000 views. If you're craving a platform to be heard, look no further.

The recent quarterly earnings call was a snoozefest. Slapping 'AI' on rebranded features won't impress anyone. Sure, infusing AI into processes has its merits, but it's far from revolutionary.

Appian, it's high time you brought your A-game. Hit the podcast circuit, blow audiences away with mind-blowing demos, and display some courage. Your shareholder value has stagnated, and safe, boring corporate strategies won't change that.

The remaining regional leaders are nothing more than corporate lapdogs, and I fear it's already too late for us. Brace yourselves for a future of mediocrity, and at best, a niche existence.

Matt will never sell his ego is too big. He would rather drive the company into the ground.

If the company is doing so well, you have to wonder why Stephanie Kirby left. If they keep bringing people in and they stay a year or two, then leave, then this is likely endemic of a product or a leadership problem, Matt. Try changing leadership and see how things go.

Do it, please. While Pega leadership implemented a strong SaaS 40 approach and significantly raised their stock price, Appian has been an embarrassment. Matt Calkins simply put does not know how to lead. He speaks in platitudes, and drafts nonsensical manifestos that are devoid of any business strategy or acumen.

The founders should be ashamed of what they’ve done to a once promising company.

Why would Pega buy this dumpster fire?

Remember when we were going to take Pega out with that whole lawsuit situation? Of course it was all botched in the way only Appian can. Couldn't even manage to leverage the main competitor's corporate espionage to drive business. Roll out of a plan of action was a disaster, no one cared, and now it's never to be spoken of again.

We shall see what the earnings say tomorrow. They cannot keep hiding their failures. I don't know why Pega would want their garbage product except to get access to their SMB market since they have so few enterprise customers. Maybe Pega is going down market.
