Thread regarding ViacomCBS layoffs

This place is the textbook definition of a toxic workplace

The culture is rotten to the core. Leadership thrives on dysfunction, morale is nonexistent, and good employees get used and abused just to be thrown out on their butts. If you're thinking about working here, dig deep before accepting anything. Talk to current employees about the constant turnover and why so many folks have bailed. They’ll tell you the real story, how the company purges capable people while keeping the yes-men and burnout enablers. Consider this your warning.

Bakish's repeated elevation of the inept, ephemeral, bumbling, rudderless, clueless McCarthy destroyed the company in ways far deeper and faster than cord cutting and streaming ever could. There are a lot of villains in this piece, but Chris is the top dog.

Toxic management on the International side too. Lack of vision, lack of strategy and poor leadership.

McCarthy and direct reports are the definition of TOXIC and they each filter it down their own business line.

I can say that is what Pluto STE Leadership does. They keep a lot of useless STE Leads, who technically are Juniors and more like politicians, communications-wise. They have them doing interviews, so more juniors join the company with Senior or STE Leads salaries.

They keep a lot of employees and contractors who actually do the work, so the STE Leads take all the credit but do nothing, as always.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, this is more true under LD than the other STE Directors.

I’m so tired of people of people saying good employees are the first to go. Putting down your coworkers in order to feel better about Paramount’s sh---y decision is such bs.

They don’t care about anyone. A lot of employees are undervalued and underpaid. A lot of us are angry for people like you and actively fighting back. It’s fine to be mad just make sure it’s at the right people.

Not everyone who stays is a yes man or burn out enabler. Most of us are exhausted and angry. We keep working because we need money, not because we like it here.
