Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Huge Announcement

Most of HR were on-line last night. There is a rumble in the Jungle that there will be a big announcement this week along with a press release. Cant say much more than that.

Heard that DEI will be rebranded to IED (Improvised Excuse Department)…. to cover up the last 5 years of business results.

I hope the people who spends majority of their working hours complaining about DEI gets let go.

I wonder how many DEI candidates will be let go.

I'm gone with a Thurs meeting but the DEI category Narcissist and DEI category coaster using his mouse moving robot isn't.

Heard someone mention all EMEA management have an off site meeting today. Maybe there is a connection? Hope it’s not the case.

Ya this makes sense. Meeting invitations to be sent out this week ive heard too. The news will break on a Friday to give people affected time to absorb the news.
Boston took a 200 million hit with Trumps tariffs, but are able to absorb the costs as per press release. As can be seen Boston's share price is up @ 104.12. Medtronic is not on as strong a footing with their share price plummeting to 82.32. Medtronic do not have the same bandwidth to absorb such costs. The only natural conclusion is to reduce overheads, cut cost, reduce staff and buckle down. As can be confirmed by many people here already, there are many people taking on multiple roles.

I thought this thread was “Hugo Announcement” with news that we had sold our first robot! But that would definitely be made up.

This thread is ridiculous hearsay with no supporting data. Also, the replies affirming the OP are obviously OP by the writing style. Not saying the thread has no merit, but that the source is highly questionable.

Post from TheLayoff.com

Why does HR care about performance reviews being completed? They didn’t care last year.

Must be lay offs. We all know anyway 5-7 % RIF but need to inform to market also. This may have positive impact on stocks as market love such news. Q4 miss, not sure about it.

Ya! Heard from someone in HR, they were waiting on the end of year reviews to be completed before they proceeded. Apparently the announcement isn’t going to be good at all. Mass layoffs is the rumour. Most of HR were on-line at the same time so something big for sure

Hopefully it’s not the abolishment of all things DEI. How would we be able to compete?

What we all want: GM to be fired and to start the process to find a proper CEO

What will actually happen: new round of layoffs, huge Q4 miss and 5 day RTO

Nope! Its 100% not RTO, i can say for sure! I can say that this announcement is going to have an impact on Medtronic's Share price and not in a positive way. Its going to be a bumpy few months ahead, from what i have been told from someone who is involved in developing the future strategy .

Nah, 5 day RTO. Thats how you weed out more people.
