I've got an offer to start somewhere new next week, but I'm completely frozen with indecision. Sure, I hate my current job, but at least I understand how this place operates. The thought of being the new person during potential cutbacks terrifies me. No savings means no room for error. Everyone says "leap and the net will appear," but what if it doesn't? Right now I'm stuck between guaranteed misery and terrifying uncertainty.

Maybe just lucky, but I never made a jump that ended up worse.
Stick around until you know your fate, good companies will wait for you if you explain the situation. If you find out you've been deemed in having to take the outdoor, take the redundancy $$$ along with it. If you find MDT haven't identified you, then the choice is yours, should I say or should I go I believe the tune goes, you will know what to do.
You will never know unless you try. No one has a magical 8 ball.
