Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

How do they decide which stores will be closed first?

I know some stores that are closed, although they looked to be in less trouble than some that are still not closed.
The store where my friend worked and which is closed wasn't nearly as much of a mess as the store where I work now and which is still open.

How do you find out your lease date if your landlord is tight lipped?

It's all about the leases. If a lease is coming up next spring that store will more than likely close. This is what other companies have done in the past when they were going out of business. The only thing is that only Corp knows when the lease is up.

What difference does it make how the management decides which store to close first? Stop pondering that question and find yourself a new job and get away from this $h!t$h0w. Fire BBBY before they fire you.

It still doesn't make sense that they are keeping all these Harmon stores. Especially considering all the stores within a store. However BBB does not have a good decision making track record.

All about profitability. My store is closing and my lease isnt up until 2024.

Right now it’s mostly based on lease end date. If you are up for renewal and your store does not make money or the rent is high and landlord won’t work with the company, your store will close.
