Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

The goal is to get us to quit

They increased the sales quota by $10k plus per rep without researching territories, past performance, or speaking with the representatives as well as their direct managers. 90% of the sales team are in the red with no support in sight. We operate as 5 plus different roles with very little support, yet are blamed for missing quota. Troubling times indeed.

All of this is to push as many of us as possible to quit. I have no other explanation for it.

If you are in retail sales all I could say is hold on.

Canon Inc does not want to run a sales organization. They don’t care that you are making no money. They purposely raised quotas and raised pricing to ensure you struggle and they don’t have to pay you.

It’s clear this is all too fast becoming the Ricoh model. The only issue is they don’t want to pay anymore severance out so they need to have you leave or make little to nothing so you are attractive to the dealer in your local area.

It’s only a matter of time. Odds are they will use the tariff situation as an excuse to lay people off.
