Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

This is unbearable

The layoffs happened just yesterday, and people are already talking about the next round. Is this really where we are now? Not even a single day can pass without the stress of looming cuts. Not one day. I am starting to hate this place more than I can express. I need a new job.

Come to Pure Storage, we are hiring!! lol

That’s too funny. Brainwashed much.

From the frying pan to the fire. Pure the woke joke of the industry is also run by a bunch of useless frat boy sales leaders, and the c-suite has no clue what’s going on in the field. Or they choose to ignore it.

Products are decent, but none of these American led companies are any better than the other, the losers dragging them down just go from one to the other to the other until they eventually find their way back and the process starts over.

NTAP, PSTG, and the rest, take your pick, they are effectively one and the same.

And if you believe the press they must all be one company, because they’re all, you guessed it, “The best place to work!“

It looks like this round targeted older employees or people who had been with the company for many years. The severance package was not that bad, especially for those with tenure, so hopefully most of them will find opportunities elsewhere and be ok. I'm worried because of the current state of the economy. Finding a good job today is difficult; finding one in September, will be almost impossible. If the rumors I hear around the hallways are correct, the next round will be focused on Thrive and RTO results. I'm ok with letting underperformers go, but I don't trust the leaders making those decisions. Especially considering how cr-ppy their planning is and how they constantly set up people for failure.

And this is why I left NetApp earlier this year. After 10 successful years as an IC I couldn't stomach how toxic the environment became. This recent crop of executive leadership along with the lack of any meaningful strategy was reason enough to step out. Unfortunately, I feel it is going to get much worse for NetApp and not sure they will turn the corner for the better for years to come... If at all.
