Hello All,
Seeking some advice in my career transition. Long time premise based telecom professional with several years’ experience, but zero experience with Cloud Technology. Was hoping to learn this at Avaya, but not in the cards. In job searching, even entry level requirements are beyond my skill level. Have us older folks become extinct if you are not an IT Network Engineer? Familiar with both general voice users and Avaya contact center basics. Customer support and project coordination at high level, yet, provisioning more at a medium level.
I have been researching some free Cloud Technology tutorials on-line.
Any advice, beyond the Avaya world, would be appreciated.

Depends on your role. If you work on ACD/IVR sales, implementation, architecture, engineering then learn NICE CXone or Genesys Cloud CX. If you are in Devops then AWS,Azure, or GCP.
Agree 💯
Cloud is not mysterious. And what you know is more complicated than anyone skilled n cloud.
Listen, cloud is easier to grasp than your current skill set. The value is understanding the journey practically and not getting sold on the marketing hype that is so slanted to position Cloud as an "event'. The people who speak most about cloud understand it the least. Trust me. Like the VP of Product that departed. If that department had a handle on it, Avaya would not be in this situation.
Hey Randy, join the Army and serve your country, you won't regret it.
Take some cloud based entry level certifications. Many courses online on youtube and udemy.
No not Steve, but glad to know there are others like me. :)
Is that you Steve ?
