Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

An Open Letter on Tech Offshoring and American Jobs

President Trump,

As U.S. tech giants like Cisco shift more of their software development overseas, it’s not just American jobs that hang in the balance—it’s trust, security, and strategic capability.

While software may dodge tariffs by flowing digitally, the effects are real. Cisco’s tools power our federal agencies, hospitals, and telecom grids. If critical development moves to India, we risk weakening compliance with U.S. standards and compromising control over infrastructure.

This isn't just about balance sheets. It’s about sovereignty in the digital age.

With deepest respect for your vision of a strong and sovereign America,
I have the honor to be, Sir,
Your loyal supporter and fellow patriot.

Greed is everywhere in the Wall Street and silicone valley. Outsource everything and only a few at the top making money and holding to very high salaries.

Too many students looking for jobs in USA and not enough jobs.
Stop the uncontrolled immigration due to greed by colleges and universities. Private universities are getting almost a billion and more from fed and state. Yet they are charging $70k-100k !!
Greed again at universities.

Guess who is paying interest for the $36trillion treasury bonds ? American tax payers and everyone working here in USA.

Pain for few years or months. Decouple from countries involved in IP theft, paying slave wages and trying to taken over land from other countries!

Several units internally have told remote staffers that their roles may be at risk if they don’t start showing up at the closest office for a hybrid work schedule

CR is just watching other tech co's announce more RTO and then he will follow along claiming it is the industry trend

IBM, Intel and Google both announced three days per week minimum

Cisco will soon follow

I saw an internal QandA in Webex where a leader in SBG claimed no RTO was in the cards...but she herself is just a peon in the middle of the management hierarchy and will be informed around the same time as the rank and file. Its very humbling for the typical middle manager at Cisco to have to admit they are on the same "need to know" basis as the lowest contractor

By this theory no one outside the US should consider buying Cisco products.

Several units internally
have told remote staffers that their roles may be at risk if they don’t start showing up at the closest office for a hybrid work schedule. Some of those employees were previously approved for remote work.

Cisco is tightening their restrictions on remote work, forcing some staffers who moved to distant locations to reconsider their priorities if they want to maintain their employment....

Anyone believe that tech CEO’s are richest?

In fact they are as poor as bankrupt cheaters if you remove stolen wages using these temp work visa policies from their net worth.

I think they stole trillions in real wages from US folks and pocket billions. Few of those billions gone to uni party at Washington DC.

Everyone complaining about H1b but genuine H1b s’ are in USA’s best interest.

When H1b program introduced in 1990 ish, there was no concept of offshore or remote. Congress must pass simple law and consider offshore as part of H1b cap only.

Many people confuse between H1b and other temp work visa like h4/l1/tn/l2/opt/cpt/parole-asylum-tps EAD etc.. it’s true that all of those temp visa folks do similar type work like H1b but they are more hurting to US than actual H1b. Many times companies use those sideways as alternative options to H1b and few are direct side product of H1b.

Basically if u have offshore than u don’t need H1b.

If u have H1b, you don’t need these sideways temp visa.

Every recent migrant is working as BA/QA/PM/Director/VP in the name of contractor using sideways temp work visa.

Again we need genuine H1b but not offshore or temp work visa folks.

This is nothing new. Everyone in Washington Knows this. In fact both party is funded by same donors who control these temp visa policies to benefit themselves only.

Seriously. Tired of all the stupidity in leadership...companies, countries, towns.

Its like a game, where they will always come out on top. Who cares how it works out, I have my meme coins and mo--nic followers.

I've never seen it such a dumpster fire in my 60 years.

Trump would prefer you work in a factory.

If your leg gets caught in the machinery—tough luck.
Don’t come crawling to the government for help, you lazy fraudster.

Maybe the service jobs in Philippines and other countries can come back to US and be given to those government employees who lost their jobs.
