Thread regarding Marathon Petroleum layoffs

Bad management = too much overtime

The job is already tough, and my team has been running on fumes for months. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I got home and had even a few minutes to myself before passing out. The real issue is management. They don’t understand half of what we’re working on, and they’re completely incapable of organizing the workload efficiently. And of course, they're arrogant about it. Where do they even find some of these people??

They preach safety, but it’s nothing but gaslighting! They know why incidents are on the rise, but they play d-mb. It’s their new run with none model that’s going to go until more people die.

Robinson morale has been an issue for the past 3 1/2 years and everyone knows why. The damage to trust and all the micromanagement has made folks miserable. I hope there’s change on the way and feel for the folks that are stuck there.

I was shocked to see all this Robinson hate. Then I remembered they had a supervisor one time who didn’t know the difference between AM and PM for times, so it all makes sense.

They don’t care about us working overtime. They might act like it in the time being. You see no changes shortly after. They do nothing to keep people around. Just keep hiring more. Work them till they find a better job. Let them leave for more money, better benefits and better 401k match.

Management receives a bonus and perks if they can fool you into being a d-mb runner gunner by meeting their unreasonable numbers. Use your Union to intercept any unsafe practices. Work hard, be honest, be safe on your own terms.

You must be from IRD. Double layer of managers that have zero knowledge or experience of the units they are over. But they sign off on all our process and safety procedures. Can’t figure out why morale is so low. SMH.
