Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Allstate Should Be Ashamed

Allstate makes Billions of dollars a year and yet decided to outsource to lower paying offshore countries to save even more. Its truly disgusting and companies like Allstate are part of the problem. Did you know that the average work week for a Colombian employee is 6 days a week at 10 hours per day? They are paid Pennie’s on the dollar and the average monthly income is only $250 per month.. Yes per month! The cost of housing is also the same as the monthly income. That means they have to work 6day/10hr shifts only to pay their rent.. no food or anything else. This forces people to live below the poverty line and often cases have to live with family members or friends just to afford food or even childcare. Companies like Allstate are part of the problem and they are only promoting a new age slave trade by only wanting to line their pockets. Fortunately I left Allstate a year ago not because I saw the writing on the wall but also because of a bad leader. During my time with Allstate I witnessed and experienced the decline of the once thriving workforce and passionate employees. During my tenure I was one of then first teams to be hit by outsourcing and had to hire/train external employees that would essentially take the jobs of Allstater’s. Although nice, these people don’t have the passion of an Allstate employee because they are a third party and they only care about their actual organization. .

I pity anyone who has the misfortune of being hit by someone insured by these monsters and forced to deal with them.

But… but… they are all about inclusive diversity and equity! This cannot be true!

Yes it’s pathetic and shameful what this company has become. What used to be a great company I was proud to work for I now view as just a greedy awful corporation

Without a union, you’ll need to quit. I’d try to leave before the market gets any worse. There is no saving this train wreck.

I completely agree and I think the first step is to get the information out there. We need to make the public and companies fully aware and held accountable for these actions. I myself wouldn’t begin to know where to start. Maybe I can try to get some sort of media coverage.

Wow. Brilliant post! Thanks for saying exactly the way I feel. And so many others. Bravo. Does anyone have any ideas on a fix besides quit? I’ve heard many talk of unionization. Perhaps we should do it onshore on behalf of our offshore colleagues who are being used without regard for our own privileged labor laws in the great USA. Sad to see a once good company that professes to care so much about inclusivity and equity. I am equally ashamed I even work here still. Help. Please. We must act as employees and seek change.
