Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Hi, I’m a store level HR, getting ready to bail, you should to!

to anyone who is considering the HR position at Belk, beware.

basically my job is schedule maker, over and over and over again, why so many drafts? The store manager is trying to bonus out at the end of the year.

How about customer complaints?
Many, many, many, but not about the associates, about the store check out, store appearance, and merchandise

False/phony surveys. I think we get them a lot, the store manager is using the same terminology in meetings and it shows up in the surveys. Somehow the bad ones get swept under the rug.

Want PTO? Good luck. Pto approved and denied arbitrarily

Hiring practices? Hiring cousins, friends, relatives, you name it. Pay rates all over the board, New hire related to store manager at $15, other one at $12. New hires come in making $2 more per hour than an associate here for five years.

Store manager is lazy, lazy, lazy, sits all day walks one lap around store, sits, takes 90 min lunch, on phone, playing solitaire with door closed, online shopping, gossiping with other managers, so so so unprofessional.

Stupidity is not a disability at Belk but then why the company always doing the wrong things all the time? Hiring 5000 workers last year and looking to fill another 6000 workers this holiday season 2022! May be Belk will say next year hiring plan at 8000 workers? It is a disability at Belk for sure!

  1. belk is $ 2 billion in debt
  1. Sales are Down
  1. sycamore partners is buying time with Belk but this nightmare will end with liquidation, be it in one year or five years, it will end with bankruptcy. That. Will. Definitely. Happen.
  1. Don Hendricks has a checkered employment past
  1. Nir Patel is a fraud
  1. Lisa Harper is a fraud
  1. Sycamore Partners is a sleazy firm, about as underhanded as a business can legally get.
  1. Belk is trying to distance itself from its ties to Charlotte, but dropping the belk bowl and closing the corporate office

an hr at belk is like an
Administrative assistant
Mostly monitor hours so manager can get bonus at year end. They also do any associate related issues, but directed only by store manager.
The HR and store manager should be totally separate otherwise it creates a conflict of interest

If lying is a business someone is a billionaire at Belk the top level position! Tell us something we don’t know about Belk. Don’t tell us about Belk crooked image and insincerity we know. Don’t tell us about Belk dirt cheap labor we know. Don’t tell us about Belk fake or dishonest hiring practice we know. Don’t tell us about hiring and giving jobs to friends or relatives at Belk we know. Don’t tell us about stupid and lazy do nothing and wasting money store managers at Belk we know. Tell us when Belk will close forever? Tell us what is the possible liquidation dates for Belk company? Tell us when Belk is going fire and get rid of current Belk CEO Don The Con Hendricks?
