SK isn’t an operator. He’s a pie-in-the-sky, theory kinda guy.

But at least he understands the next battleground frontier of AI: the intelligent edge.

Decidedly not the best person for this role, but if he, somehow, is able to surround himself with people who can execute, it’s not a terrible backfill. And is a definite step-up from Lavender.

At this point, weeding out the inferior is critical and repeat until it works.

If he doesn't fix the sales org and dive into fixing the culture, I don't foresee much success.

It’s all politics! Someone catches a leaders eye, not always for the right reasons or to align with HR’s agenda, and then they get put on the grooming fast track.

Like Warren Buffet said "invest in a business any fool can run, because someday a fool will." We have plenty of GM’s that probably should NOT be GM’s. Let’s get real leaders in those roles.

Networking guy made AI chief. Next promote the cafeteria lady to CMO and security personnel to HR. They may also be qualified

Bullshiit. The BU's have been stashing middle-management by removing them from org charts & making them dotted-line reporting. Tan hasn't done shiit.

You should expect a few thousand line workers to be 'flattened' for every ELT member that is handed a golden parachute.

This has been described by others and it is true. Even below the GM level, senior managers often pad their headcount in order to make what they are doing seem more important. Call it empire building or whatever, but it is common in all large companies and not just an Intel thing.

Add to that all the projects and groups that only exist because of some GM or VP. When they are pushed out, those who were opposed are able to push for eliminating what they see as low value efforts. Again, not just an Intel thing but the flattening of the org will lead to these kinds of mass layoffs.

What you see happening now shows what is coming next.
