From what I’ve been hearing, many people who had been with Paychex for 10+ years were let go. One colleague, who had been here for 20 years and was a fantastic team member many of us learned a lot from, was laid off.
It clearly had nothing to do with performance or skills, and everything to do with experienced, competent people being seen as too costly.
Not the smartest way to manage a workforce.
It feels like numbers have come to rule over everything else - quality, culture, and even reputation.
