Spreading false rumors?
Get lost kid, the adults are talking……
My last day was April 18th on paper but I was not allowed to say good bye to anyone or finish out my day after 1 cold a$$ phone call with a mere "thank you for your service" 1 week before. Stocks are falling, they're selling off pieces of the network, they've had to refinance. Lumen is going down
I just stumbled upon this site after being laid off in the major one in 2023. Saddening to see same story still in 2025 with no end in site it seems.
Was a very rough 1 year+ for me, wife and kids but through prayers made it through. It’s a bit less than what I left Lumen at but at least have dignity now to be able to comfortably put food on table and pay bills, just can’t afford vacations anymore but still thankful to the lord. This stuff does take a mental toll and on your self worth especially when you fall from being high performer and well respected throughout career to scrapping for any position
It really all comes down to years of services and the formula currently in effect for separations.
There is often a max months pay, often its up to 6 months, but sometimes its up to 12 months. Generally you would get a months pay for every x years as an employee.
The main RIF benefits are weeks of pay based on years of service (with a cap) and months of subsidized cobra months (paying the same for healthcare as you did as an employee). In return you sign away your rights to sue them for anything and agree to zip it.
If you tenure has been fairly short, then the subsidized cobra can be worth more than the pay.

I was Riffed last year at this time after 18 years. Got 30 weeks, but IRS took a big chunk. There is life after this hellhole if a company
Which department?
April 18th
Merit raises, lumen stars and blindsided but a riff
$25k package is that good for only 3 years?
Hope you go first!
