I am based out of Austin and my manager has no technical skills. He is basically a glorified meeting organizer. I hate his stupid buzzwords. He is so annoying

Started with IBM over 40 years ago. Amazing place. Smart people, great and honest and well trained managers in the IBM WAY. Now IBM is the Peter Principle x1000. Honestly IBM is dying and EVERYONE should have an ongoing exit strategy so hopefully you can leave on your terms and not IBMs. EVERYONE at IBM has a bullseye on their back and it is just a matter of time until your time is up.
The Peter Principle states that in a hierarchy, people tend to be promoted to their level of incompetence. In simpler terms, someone who is good at their current job gets promoted to a position where they're no longer competent, and they remain in that higher position even though they're not performing well
My manager isn’t a bully. He just doesn’t know what to do and he wants everyone to get more education. Everyone here in Austin who knows him calls him an overpaid pitch man
And don't believe the any of rubbish you are presented with in the bullying scenarios for the IBM BCG (Business Conduct Guidelines) mandatory training. Nothing but a figment of Alvind's diseased imagination when he delivers the BCG intro message. Complaints about bullying will never be investigated thoroughly by IBM HR and you'll find yourself fighting a PIP or worse, a subtle layoff. Once you report something like bullying or unethical behavior at IBM, there is a target on your back. No if, but or maybe about that. Seen that happen in Consulting quite a few times.
The managers from at will countries such as the US and Canada, forget that countries in the EU have employment laws and they are legally required to create a safe work environment and demonstrate reasonable mitigation of issues. So if you’re based in UK and your manager is in San Jose, you’re almost guaranteed a bad time.
suggest you speak to an HR lawyer...IBM never takes the side of employees even when there is proof of bullying, management protects their own.
Not to derail OP - but while we are on the topic of managers…Does anyone have experience reporting a manager to HR for bullying?
Over the years, I had one decent manager, he lasted less than one year on the job.
