Thread regarding F5 Networks Inc. layoffs

More Layoffs! Leaders Only! Workers No Longer Needed! Human First is DEAD!!!!! F5 D.O.G.E.

Another round of layoffs. They’re removing the people who build, and replacing them with people who talk. The soul of the company — the human element — is being traded for cold, synthetic optimism. We used to put people first. Now, we put bets on machines. AI is powerful. But without empathy, without humanity — it’s just code. This isn’t innovation. It’s illusion.

Why do you put those pants on?’ ‘I’ll explain it to you someday’ ‘How do you do it? How do you get up? How?’”

Sure, here's a version of that text with a more privileged, confident tone:

The changes are fine by me. I work remotely, so I pretty much have the freedom to do whatever I want. The leadership here is so insecure—they just want people to go along with whatever they say. They don't have a clue. And now, I'm up for a promotion. Just a few more people to move out of the way.

"They’re removing the people who build"

Next time managers or support ask for a consultation on designing and building the sh.t for customers, we should tell them to use chat GPT. To quote FLD, "It's ridiculously easy"!

Cool story bro. Doesn't mean that one person going has anything against the other 6k employees.

You see it happen—new execs come in and bring people they know from companies like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. From the outside, it looks like a smart, efficient move. But here’s the problem: solid, experienced employees are being shown the door to make room. You lose people who understand how things really work. You lose culture. That kind of turnover doesn’t just cost you time—it costs you trust. There’s nothing wrong with fresh talent. But if you don’t respect what’s already working, you’re building on shaky ground.

A friend of mine was let go from F5 today, and apparently there were layoffs last week too—Project and Program Managers. Wasn't F5 once voted one of the best places to work, year after year? Guess those days are over.
