The Borger Refinery recently condemned 2 relatively high pressure, high temperature naphtha reformer reactors due to hydrogen blistering. This may have been totally unpredictable but with the big push to save money, it begs the question if the reactors were operated past the expected end of service time.
In any event, we're lucky that the blistering was found during inspection and not when a reactor catastrophically failed during operations.

Blisters are normal for refineries. I get them on my two thumbs everytime my boss decides to wake up and ask me how maintenance is going in my area.
Borger is a great place to work! The leadership there is superior to other refineries and hydrogen blister occur during the refining process. Our leaders caught the danger and have planned for replacements. Please share your concerns and comments with your supervisor.
It wasn't P66 decision to not upgrade the reactors. It was Cenovis
Starve your refining assets for investment and send all of you bucks to “green” bs such as Rodeo Renewed or batteries and charging stations
And you wonder why Elliott is all over the b-ms on the ELT
