I heard TIAA no longer give employees a percentage of their yearly salary when they "hit" 25 years of service. Is this true?

Not sure exactly what you are referring to, but there is no added retirement contribution or added benefit for 25 years of service anymore. There used to be an option to stay in the TIAA health plan after 25 years of service and while there may be a few folks left that were grandfathered in based on their hire date, this generally doesn’t exist anymore. Contributions to the TIAA retirement plan are based on age and do increase as one gets older but nothing special added for years of service.
