Is anyone else stuck in the same role even though you’re ki-ling it? My manager refuses to let me go because I make him look good. Every attempt at getting a promotion is blocked. How do you even begin to deal with this?

If you look at those getting promotions, they are the ones that don’t focus on pleasing 1st line managers, but kiss-up to 2nd and primarily to 3rd line. All needed is to feed ideas to 3rd line about how growth / improvements can be achieved. Of course ego st-----g at the same time.
I was being sarcastic about that $175
For all the work I did completed tasks before the deadline and producing more as well at the many 14 hour days, weekends, phone calls at night and on my Honeymoon . I’m done
I am officially a free agent
Alvind Krabanaugh and the rest of the dipmunks fed like pigs while I burn myself out
getting a big promotion hinges as much on luck than it does on hard work and ability ... "visibility" (as utterly useless as that is to productivity) is also a huge factor at IBM
as others have said, look outside IBM ... any significant raise I've ever had has come from changing companies
you got $175 !
You were so lucky to get that - I'm a Band 10 DE and all I got was a miserly $1.75 before taxes as my GDP. You can't even buy a hamburger at McDonalds for that. I guess Alvind and miseryguts Krabanaugh will want me to pay them to work at IBM going forward or until the layoff notice arrives.
Why wouldn’t anyone want to stay? What a beautiful GDP among I’m getting
I looked in success factors and it hits direct deposit tomorrow. $175 after taxes Yay !
Thank you Alvind and Krabanaugh
Why don't you look outside the Big Blue dump for better opportunities ASAP ?
After all, you don't want to be part another layoff statistic, do you ?
Management at IBM are easily the worst among big companies in the tech industry. And it starts right at the top with Alvind and Krabanaugh. They wrote the book " IBM Layoffs for Dummies" !
