After seeing how Cenovus handles older employees, why would anyone over 50 bother going above and beyond? When your fate depends on payroll numbers, not performance, why ki-l yourself? At this point, doing the bare minimum isn’t laziness, it’s self-preservation.

Maybe the non represented employees need to organize! I think I’ll reach out to a site rep tomorrow and have a conversation about it. I’ve also seen stellar employees with great reviews let go meanwhile Sponge Bob still has a job.
I 100% agree with that statement.. in late 2023 I was let go after more than 15years and was over that 50 age.. had a great performance review and two weeks later let go.. by far the worst leadership I experienced in my career.. they have no shame or values to there staff .. best wishes to all that find a career where company respects you and values you..
How about those managers that hire their side chick and no one in HR questions hiring someone with zero qualifications for the job??

How about the leader that hires their friend as a contractor, as a direct report (conflict of interest), and then to hire them on full time with a ‘specialist’ title with no job posting to see if anyone is better qualified for that specialist title/role.
Contractors "milking" Cenovus as there's no day tomorrow. This is insane. Need to review all contractors and their rates. Why they charge over $140/hr and work from home? Contractors must work from the office to be seen how productive they are. SAP contractors we have do not have any official SAP certifications!!! That is ridiculous
They are known to do all the wrong things, very right !! They would win and outperform all the ‘inverse’ strategy upticks.
I was “retired” in January 2021 at the age of 55. I had more projects on my plate than several of my colleagues with the same job title who were retained. I was not pleased but looking back it was a blessing. No longer stressed - I work from home. Believe it or not one of my clients is Cenovus. So let’s recap … HUGE paayout, WFH, no office BS politics, less stress, huge tax deductions, and oh yeah —> my chargeout rate is double !!
