Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Tenure needs reallocation of positions

One of the biggest challenges this company faces is a lack of clear direction. There’s a desire to modernize and be forward-thinking, but at the same time, key decisions are still being made by senior leaders whose approaches may be outdated and disconnected from today’s reality.

At the frontline level, the company struggles to move tenured employees out of roles where they’re no longer contributing to growth. These “untouchables” are a major factor in why progress is stalled. Across many markets, there are agents with consistently low ARPDs, but there’s a reluctance to address the issue directly.

As a result, resources are being misallocated—raises can’t be given to local or middle management because a large portion of the wage budget is tied up in agents who aren’t driving profitability. This imbalance is holding the company back from real, meaningful growth.

Driven by poor management. You can’t squeeze lemon juice out of a dried out lemon.

Nothing will change because nothing changes so you can’t expect positive change.

I highly doubt that the major failures happening at hertz are due to CSR's who can't sell LDW. Root causes run much deeper
