Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

My buy implementaion

The implementation of MyBuy at PepsiCo has been quite chaotic. I'm surprised the vendor, PwC, and the PepsiCo employees who approved it are still with the company. Four months have passed, and we’re still far from resolving the issues. I find it unusual that Dave seems indifferent, which makes me wonder if he’s preparing to leave. Ironically, G-yatri believes she can fix the problems, but perhaps Athina should consider prioritizing this over her podcast.

This recent round of PGT has been awful even though they had two previous rounds to learn best practices from. For many processes, all we received were Zoom recordings. Trainings were bare bones. If there's one for AFO I've never heard about it or found one. No job aids so everyone is making their own. We are told to do it one way in training and then when we try it are told it is wrong. Office hours barely helped because often they wouldn't know either and now they're already done for some processes. Even though we're only now running into tasks we don't do every period. PGT staff going to their next roles or even leaving the company entirely. So now we're left trying to figure things out like we're feeling around blindly in the dark. Especially with entire departments migrating to S&T. Trying not to feel too jealous of all the people escaping (early retirement).

G-yatri doesn't have anything to do with MyBuy. Any complaints should be directed at Dave or Juan. She can't be responsible for all the complaints folks

Still with the company? Seriously? They have all been promoted by now.

I’ve survived three platform overhauls in my career. This is the worst. They spent so much on consulting fees for MyBuy, then let it go live half-finished. G-yatri has the nerve to call it a ‘massive success’ while entire departments can’t process orders. Where is accountability?

I was on the MyBuy deployment team. Every time we flagged issues with data migration, we were told, “Just push it through, leadership wants us live now.”We tried to fix it, but we had zero support or budget and now people are pointing fingers at the team.

The previous MyBuy owner Anamika out of India sc--wed the whole process up in 2024. She had no clue what she’s doing. Instead of firing her, they just moved her to a different group. Standard procedure for a director and above.

This issue isn’t related to adoption. Purchase orders have not been transferred from the old system to the new one, invoices are still pending, and vendors have not been uploaded into the system. I believe the real problem is that testing wasn’t conducted properly, yet someone approved the vendor to go live. Four months have passed, and they are still trying to resolve the issues, but it seems that no leaders are taking responsibility for the situation.

I am retired, but was very involved in MyBuy from an oversight perspective. In my many years working with it globally, the success of adoption seemed to be based on: 1) proper managerial oversight in BUs using it (Brazil was atrocious for example); 2) proper use of the capabilities; and 3) proper configuration and maintenance of the system by the using BUs with their IT support. Lack of proper diligence in any one of these would result in underperformance and control issues. The BUs were quick to point fingers, but not look in the mirror.
