Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Severance agreement

Has anyone signed the Severance Agreement and Release? Any reason why one should not sign it? What happens if the document is not signed? No severance paid out? I was part of the mass layoff in March and have no reason to believe there was any discrimination. I have no reason for litigation against Nielsen and no plans to contest the termination of my employment. Just want to make sure I’m not missing anything here since the language included about waiving rights is very broad.

Equifax operates The Work Number. It's a database that tracks your entire work history and shares personal details like salary history with employers, without your consent. It can affect whether or not you get hired or approved for credit cards, loans, rental leases and government programs. You can freeze and unfreeze it like your credit report. So you know who is looking at your employment record.

Please explain "Block your employment record on The Work Number (Equifax)." No idea what this means.

Report Nielsen to the new administration for outsourcing jobs to Mexico, Poland, and India. This is unfair and unacceptable!

I waited a couple of weeks to sign it in order to get a lawyer to review it. I ended up signing it and sending in but the delay in signing it had a substantial delay in my compensation. You have to stay on top of what they are paying you since Nielsen will either intentionally (or not), somehow “forget”, or claim something fell through the cracks when it comes to paying you. Closely watch what your paid and whatever is mailed to you from them. Do not trust they will do the right thing for you.

Then take their money and file for unemployment when you can in your state. If you can get another job while getting severence, do it. Block your employment record on The Work Number (Equifax).

Unless you’re contesting the lay off or planning to sue, sign it.
