Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

How are they tracking RTO?

Badge swipes? Connecting to company wifi? Does it differ by country or location?

ultimately this is just another form of workforce reduction. Management doesn't actually believe what it says about collaboration/productivity benefits of being in-office. But if they make working here unbearable and people leave on their own, they save money not having to pay severance like they're required to do with formal RIFs.

If you care about keeping your job long-term, be careful. Personally, I used to just come to the office, do what I needed to do, and head home. At one point, I was only in the office for 2-3 hours before leaving. What I realized was that as long as you badged in, no one was really tracking you—unless your in-office presence didn’t align with your Workday status for remote work.
Everything was fine until my manager caught on. But it wasn’t because they checked my badge swipes—it was because someone snitched.

Sounds like they care if you are “in-house” not what you do.
So badge in, setup, logon, start full virus scan. Go to food court for coffee, breakfast, wander around for a while. Go outside for a “smoke break” even if you don’t smoke. Check on virus scan, check email, then lunch. After lunch “ rinse and repeat” the morning “tasks”. 16:45 log off and head for elevator so badge out is 17:00.

Don’t fight the game, learn how to play it.

Are they looking at how long you stay? I mean would they care if you stay a reasonable time but left before 5?

As in 8 times a month. But it could have changed since then - they could be getting stricter. I've also heard they look more closely at people skipping Mondays and Fridays.

2 times for the entire month or 2 times per week for the entire month (8 times)?

They pull a report of the badge swipes at least for GHQ. Then that report goes to your manager. The report pulled doesn't show vacation, sick time, virtual days, disability, etc. It's up to your manager to look and compare. But last I spoke to someone they're only pulling really bad reports so people who only come in like 2xs a week for the month.

Just know if they are after you, you will be tracked so they can fire you.

Your manager will be involved, if they want you gone, be very careful, turn off your laptop and cell phone after you shift ends, if not working weekends, make sure to have them powered down till your shift starts.

Act like they are watching you at all times, they are very sneaky

Don't they track the 5G nano injected nano-bots with the corona vaccines? Hah, outdated!

Do you eat in the food court?
Tiny RFD “pills” in the food. They know every where you go 😎

Well, security is handled by 3rd party firm. It's not that hard to pull logs and analyze swipes. You don't need shadow IT folks.

Voyix here, my manager told me some shadow IT folks tracks the badge swipes and the connection and time on the vpn… apparently any location with Honeywell scanners is tracking badge swipes :/

Ever since split, Voyix’s ELT and their direct reports have become corporate na-is, trying to discipline employees with artificial rules rather than putting their focus on quality output and gaining market share. Their changes have only tanked the stock market (we’ve hit below $10?!?). ELT seriously needs to take their stick out of their ar-e and stop making their employees out to be the enemy.
