Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Leadership Decline

I'm walking in double doors with heavy boxes under each arm, struggling to get to my cube. Three of our top site leaders are walking toward me shoulder to shoulder. They didn't offer to help, in fact, they almost knocked me down trying to get out the doors. The quality of leadership has really declined over the past several years. The true leaders are already gone.

the likes of AA the VP of UX (DPA), are simply ruining the culture and brand of Pepsico. It is shocking someone like that was hired into a leadership role!

When I worked at FLNA and Steve Reinemund was its CEO. I would sometimes walk in from the parking lot with him. He was always carrying a bunch of files and things. I would offer to help, he always refused. I knew him. Met with him often, never on good topics. He was a total hard a-s, but fair. I was just a Sr. Mgr., but he knew to listen to what I had to say..,..how else did I get on his calendar to begin with? I knew my name and what I did. When I would be in Purchase and he was PepsiCo CEO, if I ran into him in the hall, he always stopped for few moments to chat with me, ask how things were going. How my family was. That was a leader.

PepsiCo leadership today is berating you daily to the point you lose all identity and will to have a work life balance! They make you feel guilty taking a lunch, doctor appointments, things for your kids, family stuff, a vacation or anything else that makes you a human!! Meanwhile your bosses and Sr leaders disappear for hours or days at a time!

You can't be a PepsiCo Leader and have a heart or show compassion. That's a sign of weakness.

When there is a lack of leadership present, it allows space for new leaders to rise. Title on the business card has little to do with ability to lead.

Look for opportunities and examples of what poor leadership looks like and do the opposite.
