Thread regarding Morgan Stanley layoffs

NYS WARN doesn't apply here?

Since MS let go of greater than 250 full-time employees, weren't they required to give a full 90-day notice before these layoffs?

Under the New York State Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act ("NYS WARN"), private employers with 50 or more full-time employees in New York State must provide at least 90 calendar days advance written notice for the following events.

Mass Layoff: occurs when, over a 30-day period, a reduction-in-force results in an "employment loss" of more than six months for: (a) at least 25 full-time employees who represent at least 33% of all employees at the site; OR (b) at least 250 full-time employees;

Maybe it was only 249 people in NY

Well if it is anything like when I got laid off, you were told and paid for 90 days. That would mean it was in compliance.

Maybe report it to the State of NY

Watching the way Morgan Stanley is managing this ridiculous layoff leads me to believe they have zero clue of any regulatory impact of what they are doing. I hope they get sued to high he-l. Don't sign that release yet. You can probably get a LOT more from this joke company.
