Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Which PSG is the best sweetspot / balance of compensation and WLB?

My PSG 25 boss doesn’t really do anything, doesn’t understand the work our team is responsible for and is always signing out early… yet all of the leaders in our org think so highly of this person…

I’ve been thinking it must be the sweetest gig ever. Calling into a few meetings every week, doing a dozen PMPs per year and then spending the rest of the day hanging with the kiddos.

Yea, look at all the 25s and 26s in HSE. High paying job and you don't have to do much but hire contractors and just read the presentations they make for you. Best grade level/function combo in the corporation.

There are ineffective managers at all levels. Be happy you don’t have a micromanager. They are worse than the lazy, connected ones.

You want to reach at least a PSG-26, since this is when you start getting stock options. PSG-26 is very obtainable if you have a technical degree.
