Thread regarding Morgan Stanley layoffs

I got axed yesterday and had precisely zero blips on my performance record. My biggest flaw was doing well enough to earn a promotion and a raise.

Took me hanging the NYS WARN act over HR’s head to get my severance at 9pm tonight in writing. Degenerate and insulting for the amount of work I’ve put in to better this company.

Smoke and mirrors, always. It’s been redeeming to have had so much support from coworkers. The MS ecosystem is the best- the ones in charge have no fu--ing clue what they’re doing.

Wish you all the best and hope you don’t have similar afflictions. Tough to go through this at 26 but the best lessons are taught through experience, I guess.

I agree. Never would have went to this company if I knew they did this every other year. I was with a much more stable company prior.

ITS NEVER ABOUT PERFORMANCE OR AI. THEY LEAKED THIS TO BLOOMBERG A WEEK AGO TO CONTROL THE NARRATIVE. THIS FIRM DOES IT EVERY YEAR, ITS ABOUT MATH AND SAVING MONEY PERIOD. WHICH IS ABSURD BECAUSE THE BUSINESS ACROSS ALL AREAS OF THE FIRM ARE DOING WELL. THERE ARE MDS EDS VPS AND AVPS, ALL TALENTED. MGMT HAS TO PICK SOMEONE AND ITS USUALLY THE HIGHEST WAGE EARNER AT EACH LEVEL. MY ADVICE IS TO LEAVE WHATEVER LEVEL BECAUSE THEY WILL ALWAYS GET YOU. IF YOUVE BEEN LET GO, LIFT YOUR HEAD UP, REALIZE ITS NOT YOU AND GOOD THINGS COME OUT OF BAD…YOU WILL BE IN A BETTER SPOT SOON, KEEP NETWORKING!
