Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

...And then there was One (+1)

CMO SM "left " Avaya shortly after the Leadership Team Visit to Galway.

KH, it was announced, has "chosen" to "leave" (Head of Product). Was previous a Dir of PM at Genesys prior to the unlikely ascension into senior leadership.

Steven Spears, CRO, was awarded "Involuntary" separation benefits.

One still remains in C Suite that raises questions -- CFO

One remains in Business Line leadership that is a head scratcher -- ST, Head of Cloud (career with Avaya out of Chicago. Then stunt at Nice. Then back to Avaya an overnight cloud guru)

And for those who still look over their shoulder each day to confirm he's not about to take you down, JC is still no longer. I promise.

CFO is now in the past.

That means there is only the (+1) head scratcher....that cloud portfolio person. The most offensive client facing individual I have ever had the displeasure of working with.

It appears someone had that link deleted. I saved it as it is part of my file that I am keeping about this experience. That post was impresively accurate and a succienct way of summarizing the past 2.5 years, in particular (3.2 years in truth, yet they really doubled down last 2.5).

Does Avaya Corporate know how often that happens? That they have employees who spend a disproportionate amount of business hours fighting to have posts taken down?
PRO TIP: I have saved every post I have read that resonates with my experience. About 50% of those posts have been removed from this site. And it is always the SPOT ON most truthful, fact supported posts that get delted. Save the ones that resonate with you immediately. I saved it. sent the link to a few friends. WIthin minutes they told me they could find it. Again, the most accurate ones are the most damning and those who live to control narrative and reputation have them removed ASAP.

ST being promoted for portfolio management is the funniest / saddest organizational update thus far. Come on, new guy. Read the room - who has faith in that ?

AND ..don't forget. The RSLs are the HARDEST working leaders inside Avaya. The MOST PARTNER & CLIENT Facing...and they have to manage the bean counters above then who only care about check marks, not Kong term client results.
NEVER Underestimate the RSL. THE HARDEST working, the most under valued.

I am talking about Regional Sales Leader. Most of the time RSLs manage a group of Account Managers, Channel Managers or Territory Account Managers.

AM, CAM and TAM are individual roles and RSL/ASL are usually managers of those various roles.

Let's not get hung up on the semantics of the word "manager". There can be many meaning beyond having direct reports e.g. account manager, territory manager, etc. Sometimes there's just no specific job title available for an increased scope of responsibility or rate of pay, so the title of "manager" is applied.

Agreed with too much overhead managers. I have seen sales managers with one or two reports and other managers with 8 reports.

I also see managers with no direct reports and they just have manager in their title (I guess they are just managing themselfs). What is even funnier is that the managers with no people under them report to a manager with the exact same title as them.

Unless the org chart is really optimized from it’s current inverted Triangle model with way to many and VPs, too many overlapping sales roles, we are going to remain a fat body er--t on weakening legs bound tk fall.

Why has there been zero changes in international leadership in Dubai - the longer the new CEO doesn’t make any changes there the less confident I am that he’s fit for the job.

The CMO got hired from Gartner to get Avaya on the magic quadrants for CCaaS and was not able to do that for multiple years. We are not on the magic quadrants for CCaaS or UCaaS. Only for meeting solutions with spaces

The CMO was a joke. He sucked as an analyst and had the aroma of a pile of dog doo in the sun. Total id--t

Not only a lot of upper Avaya management are leaving but regular individual contributors as well. In my org, many have left to go to competitors.
