Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Demographics in the future

We always talk about the simple hump demographics where we have lots of people 55+ and then very limited people from 40-50 and then a ramp up in the 30-40age range. The way, it’s going, we will just have the 50 year age range and nothing from 20-50 except the BTC and KLTC. How can LMM and DWW think this is a credible business plan? This will be a classic case for how to have short term gains but lose the business

Recall downturn of 1980’s. Exxon announced major staff cuts in 1986 - 27% worldwide.

Reduction in knowledge and experience is felt in 1989. Valdez spill, deadly BR explosion, and major oil spill from Bayway into the water off Staten Island.

History tends to repeat itself. These events caused major stock price hit. Investors and employees holding the stock should be concerned.

This push to BTC only will build resentment and hatred between India and Americans. Great plan to divide people. More hatred is exactly what we need. Looks like they are following the Soros model.

The change to BTC is just a huge ploy for Execs to justify their bonuses.

When BTC fails, there will be another huge ploy for Execs to justify their bonuses.

Remember the hiring binge of 2019 that earned many Execs praise and bonuses?
Remember the layoff of 2020 that earned Execs bonuses?

BTC will be similar but with longer cycle time.

If The Execs actually believed BTC was the future of EM, Dallas office would be moving to Bangalore.

It is not a credible business plan. Many companies have learned that the hard way. It also leads to people being promoted beyond their competencies. I suspect we can all identify examples in that 45-55 age range.
