Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Stop complaining, take advantage of this opportunity

Everyone stop complaining about Ford's lack of leadership and zero future, take advantage of Ford’s incompetence and make your own future. Do what I did, get a second job. I "work" for Ford as an engineer and can complete all my objectives in less than 20 hours a week. That leaves me 20-30 hours a week for a second job. I have been doing this for three years and made a lot of money, learned a lot and I am building my non-Ford career. Ford is your easy cash cow, your second job is your future. Plus all my Ford performance reviews are very good, and I even got bumped to GS7, because my LL6 and LL5 have no idea what they are doing or how to lead people. Take advantage of this opportunity, you are the only one who cares about your career.

Troll
This is the info HR uses to punish true Ford employees. I bet this post is from a HR Troll to justify their PR assessment policies.

Here is the unfortunate truth about all this. I'm not going to disparage Ford because it's simply not in my nature and l bled Ford blue for almost 30 years. I was separated in the Sept. 2023 round of about 3000 people.

I have tried to contact my previous group 3 or 4 times because I heard some people had returned and wanted to see if there may be any opportunities not just for my benefit but to help a company that had become a part of who I am. I didn't even get a reply to any of the emails I sent.

I was never looking for a huge paycheck, but only to stay with the only company I had ever worked for. I still have some Ford stock (I know, my mistake), but loyalty is one of my integrity faults. But without integrity and loyalty what does someone really have?

Well, my point is despite the downfall of Ford due to recalls, failed electric vehicle strategies, and releasing experienced dedicated employees, the company will always be part of my DNA and wish they would take advantage of ex-employees who still care.

If anyone cares to contact me about this indicate so and I can provide provide contact information.

Good luck!

How are you doing a second job? Did you tell them you also work for Ford/ and also Ford that you work for the other company?

This post is so true, I know four GS8’s who have second jobs. Two have multiple rental properties, one is an independent Certified Financial Planner and the fourth is a contract controls engineer. All of them do their Ford job and then work their second job. They stay at Ford because the job is easy and the benefits. Before everyone gets mad about this remember the executives are on other companies’ boards of directors and are allowed to be partners and owners in business. I wonder how many other people at Ford have second job?
