It's not about being on visa or not. Someone that I know who got fired, got a 1 month buffer time. Many firms do that, for both Citizens as well as for those on visas
No visa dude you will get the boote swiftly like the others
Do the give a 1 month buffer time (inactive employee) for someone who is on visa?

It shouldn't matter but that doesn't mean you are safe since they are trying to cut costs. If you are New York they could try to send the job to Alpharetta
