Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Another one bites the dust….

So many people in leadership positions leaving over the past year.

Most recently: Mauro Porcini, Chief Design Officer

They clearly know something we don’t.

Leave design to a skillfully thoughtout AI prompt. Will be an extinct profession soon. BTW, these is nothing great about Pepsico designs. It's been the same with a bit variation here and there. Good riddance to this guy and as sad as it is, time for the design team to look for another profession.

How long before the design team is dismantled and reorganized?

Have you ever heard Mauro podcast!
Just off that you can tell he was an arrogant narcissist. Being on the design team, I can tell you first hand that he was just a politician. Claimed he redesigned the Pepsi logo and gave credit to no one else.

He was full of empty words and created nothing that actually drove the business. Mauro got famous, road the Pepsi political wave, accomplished nothing of substance and got a big buyout for his efforts.

That is what this company rewards. Having character, delivering on the bottom line and doing the right thing will absolutely not get you a promotion.

I have to tell myself, if you can’t beat them, join them. If your moral standards won’t let you do that, you need to leave.

I really need to take my own advice.

Sincerely,

Burnt out and hopeless design clown.

I fear the ones leaving are NOT the ones that created this mess. No worries though, there are some young people with little to no experience or nepos available to backfill these positions.

Let them leave! They created this mess and now they're jumping ship and leaving the stinky bag on our doorstep.
