PepsiCo buying out Poppi ? Do you think it’s a sweet mistake ?

https://www.reuters.com/markets/deals/pepsico-nearing-more-than-15-billion-deal-soda-brand-poppi-bloomberg-news-2025-03-14/

$1.5 billion is a hefty price tag for Poppi.

Let’s not forget Kevita and Izze. Pop corners plant got shut down too. Similar brands PepsiCo ruined. They will do the same with Poppi and Siete.

Offered too much $$$ for this brand. PepsiCo has not woken up to the reality that adding another soda brand is not going to make sales volume better. It is ironic that PepsiCo closes plants, and eliminates jobs, only to waste money buying another soda. How sad for leaders who are suppose to know how to run a business.

I remember when Frito was dithering about buying Skinny Pop, they got stuck in the same old PEP analysis paralysis bureaucratic quagmire trying to determine the optimal perfect price. Then Hershey swooped in out of the blue and bought Skinny Pop right out from under PEP. Literally the next day in Plano an admin was in the company store with a paper bag removing all the Hershey bars from the shelves. Then emails came out listing Hershey products and telling us not to buy them ! what a joke.

Pepsi has ruined so many promising brands. Muscle Milk used to be #1. Starbucks is declining. Pure Leaf getting overtaken by Gold Peak. Bang, Celsius. Pepsi cannot develop niche brands. They are having a hard time with mass brands losing share now too. Too many cost cuts, too much destruction of employee morale (low pay/non functional bureaucracy/unfair promotions/ no work life balance/lucky to have a job mentality), bad pricing actions, and poor leadership direction.

PepsiCo is trying to pivot. Hard to pivot a trash barrage when it's run a ground by Ramon and Athina.

Overpaid for it and it will get thrown in the portfolio and die. Pepsi is desperate for something to work right.

100% correct. Look at how popular Bang and Celsius were before we took the distribution agreements. Bang is out of business and Celsius was almost put in same place. Many other examples.

More layoffs are coming. They'll sc--w up Poppi like they have other brands they've bought. Make it cheaper and sell it for more.
