T-Mobile laid off 1,000s in Q3. No notice. Leaders lost a LOT of employee trust in 2yrs. CEO's a marketing expert. Big on 'smoke & mirrors'. Those still there say morale & stress is worst it's been in 10yrs. Leaders aren't answering questions at mtgs. Zero transparency. In a recent internal employee survey that promoted respondent anonymity, had ratings on trust, leadership, & support tanked so badly that they reached out to respondents to try to determine who said what! Zero integrity.

I've only been with TMO since 2021and would have to agree with the sentiments of the OP. In my observations, I haven't yet seen a pattern develop in how they select who to let go. I've seen no consistency in determining who is laid off since I've seen both leadership and ICs from legacy Sprint and TMO get laid off in recent months. I was shocked that a 20 yr Sprint vet at the VP level got axed, and then a few weeks ago, I learned that a 9 yr TMO vet, Director, got axed. All the while, we have thousands of positions that people are actively interviewing for. None of this behavior is unusual in an M&A deal, so it's to be expected. Work hard, add value, and find another role if you got rif'd (or whatever y'all call it). I was put on guarded employment, and internals are interviewing me left and right. Needs and strategies change. Just roll with it...
"who was let go" (sic) Let's say that they reduced redundant positions and kept those who fit it. In retail, its location location location, and the best locations in each area stayed. Wireline ? Too expensive to modernize, Sold. Legacy Sprint systems ? Those not contractually obligated to stay per a contract, are winding down.
Wall Street will make tmus to sky, that is for sure, but leadership will be ki---d in the streets one day.
Horrible company. Wish Wall Street only knew.
wrong statement, the majority people who was let go is magenta side.
Again the union mouthpieces spout nonsense. The whole Sprint organization was on the chopping block the moment the merger was signed. Contractually T-Mobile kept the headcount from Sprint until the 2 years specified had expired. (had to put in the legal requirements because Unions like to use that when feelings aren't enough), Tmo wanted the spectrum and bought it, the rest had to go.
Looks like the paid T-Mobile trolls are getting back to work. The OP made a completely true statement. I know people who want to quit and it is getting bad. Hope those who can find better jobs can do so before the recession.
Get back to work and contribute.
