VRP pass regret

I passed on the VRP because I just wasn’t ready. How many of you folks just like me are kicking yourself for not taking it. I truly thought it couldn’t get any worse but I was 100% wrong. For the HR team watching this site….please please bring back the VRP! I won’t make the same mistake twice!

I’m thrilled I took it. I’m also nervous, but all will be fine. It was time to go, 38 more days!

I’m so sorry that you didn’t take it. Totally understand why you didn’t. PepsiCo is so toxic that it works on people’s confidence. It’s true, the job market is tough but sometimes you have to take a risk. Hang in there, another VRP will roll around. Wishing you the best in whatever you decide.

WTF were you thinking?!?!?! I wasn’t ready either but I couldn’t resist being paid to look for another job

Just received an offer from a former customer - they reached out to me out of the blue - had a nice meeting and now I have an offer for more $$$$ than what I was being paid by the ol’ SPA BOX he||hole …. Now I get to double-dip for six months

You can always reach out to HR to let them know that you're interested in a VRP offer. Pepsi is actively trying to divest long-term employees with pensions, so it's a conversation worth having. The worse that can happen is they say no, which also happens to be the same answer if you DON'T ask them.

I passed on VRP because I was just eligible and it wasn't enough of a bridge to get me close enough to retiring if I didn't find other work out there! Its no secret all corporations are laying off right now so its not a strong market to go get a new job plus who at 55 wants to start over again when you have 20 years invested here? If they truly want rid of people make VRP more attractive so my financial planner can't shoot it full of holes! Trust me I want out as badly as everyone else does from this stinking rat infested toxic dump we work at where we get peanuts and sc--wed over but upper management is unaffected!!

You weren't ready? You were given a gift 95% of people don't have available to them. For the life of me, I don't know why anyone would turn down one year of free pay. You can find something in that time and get double-paid. I'll cross my fingers that another VRP comes, but it may not be the golden egg VRP everyone just took. Good luck.

I used to recruit people into the company now I discourage people when asked about working for Pepsi. DLT ….you truly need to get a pulse of the folks working for you….it’s bad. Really bad..

Pepsi at one time was a great company. Management over the last 15 years or so has been internal driven and not focused on driving the business and being competitive. They’ve taking their eye off the ball for too long. Don’t believe me then look at the org health. Unfortunately there’s not enough competent people in place to turn it around. It’s sad to see. A very wise boss told me when you see the rats jumping off the ship….it’s time to go.
