25 years ago genuinely a great place to work with innovation

25 years ago the stock was still climbing (well, for another week or so) which is the only reason it was "good" back then. A lot of Cisco's "innovation" was tens of billions in acquisitions filling every niche, starving out competitors. Acquisitions that move the needle on $54B in revenue are now longer low hanging fruit and the engineering staff that was never up to the current task remains ineffective.

There is money involved in getting this accolade. It's just a made up marketing tool. 25 years ago genuinely a great place to work with innovation, expertise and a future but now a tech corpse which only cares about share price and acquires and ruins others as it has no fresh ideas of it's own and a disjointed strategy.

There are certainly worse places to work but Cisco is FAR from #1

Cisco is a great company. Haters would say it’s horrible.

That is correct, Cisco is at the top of tech companies receiving employment application/resume. You should feel blessed being employed by Cisco
