OP is clearly one of the New Yorkers who jumped right to the top of the EJ ladder and only knows how to talk a good talk with others up there. Completely oblivious to what it takes to execute but skilled at judging others. Likely has coffee in the Manchester cafe with GPs and spouts this poison.

Please be careful what you write. Not sure what area you work in but I put in a good 60 hours a week, a lot of us do.

There are lazy people in all areas of the firm - from home office to the field. But the overwhelming amount of people -in my experience- are hard working, extremely intelligent, of high moral standing and just overall nice people. Heck, there’s lazy people in literally all businesses.
That doesn’t mean the company should indiscriminately lay hardworking people off. Which is exactly what they’re doing. They’re making individuals train their foreign replacements and then they are being kicked to the curb. And being a limited partner, being an exceeds expectations, working overtime when asked/demanded, going consistently above and beyond in your role/growing your professional skills or being a “yes man” does not matter if leadership is set on downsizing your department. And not only is that not fair, that’s not right.
So, original poster, if you happen to observe people not working to your standards (aka “being lazy”) perhaps those individuals aren’t inspired to give it their all anymore because in the end it won’t save their job.

Wow… You must work for McKinsey, EY or some other consulting firm who has wormed its way into the firm, never delivering anything, just recirculating the same nonsense PowerPoint decks over and over. Or maybe you’re a doge bro….
