@4m+1, I think you may be on the wrong forum. We are here for comments from disgruntled employees and shareholders that disparage Oxy, Trump, MAGA voters, and Oxy’s employees. We aren’t here for comments like yours that actually make sense.
I think "drill baby drill" refers to reducing the legal impediments for drilling such as licensing and permitting. It won't immediately increase production, but would reduce the price of oil over time as new wells come on line. That alone won't help energy companies since it drives down the cost of a commodity. On the other hand, there is a "bottom" price based on the actual cost of production. Companies that manage their costs well will do fine. Those that don't will be acquired. Oxy's debt load will be a drag on its profitability.
Used to love it when the CEO would say that "we were in it to win it"... Thought it should have been "fake it till you make it". Slogans are cute and totally meaningless...
I had the same reaction to “hope and change”, “build back better” and “when we fight we win”. Lot of policy in those slogans, right?

Try learning something about economics, supply/demand relationship, prices in a free market, etc. This is how it hurts Oxy and every other O&G company. I would say it helps the consumer, but I honestly am not sure what the plan behind "drill baby drill" entails other than political rhetoric.
How can drill baby drill hurt Oxy?... Oh..I forgot...You are neck deep in debt and cannot afford to ramp up drilling. So, yes..Trump's policies could have a drastic impact on Oxy.
I think so. My brother just got laid off. He worked in tech in Dallas. His company has said that their orders are drying up.
Why is it trolling to start necessary discussions about issues that will potentially impact employees?
