Agree, for a peek into the future check out what Hock’s protege Tom Krause is up to at tibco/Citrix

Working for a PE run org is never a good experience - except it seems for those who only care about a paycheck and absolutely nothing else.
Beware. Anything can happen here and nothing if final. Decisions are often made very, very quickly by Octane. Months later, he will change his mind and reverse the decision just as quickly. It's depends on his mood that day. Get ready for a roller coaster ride.
I am hearing positive chatter about Tanzu in internal circles for the past few weeks. This blog post reinforced that.
What a BS from tanzu haters. It can’t be more clear than this. I heard many time that hocktan is very direct and make decisions fast. Now when decision has made , people are trying to raise doubt and self half cooked interpretations.
Statements are totally compatible with keeping a group together to sell off later.
Time will tell…
Quite surprising.
I guess we will see how he plans to unravel that crazy division.
It can’t be biz as usual, because that would certainly drive any rational biz person totally insane based on the behaviors I’ve seen in the Tanzu team.
Or maybe I’m just crazy and don’t recognize the new normal of incompetence.
The audience for that blog post is not regulators.
He said “tanzu” he didn’t say anything else here. Just a fluff post to show to regulators. Once the deal closes anything is open.
There's what makes sense - cloud-native app support & dev ops, vSphere and VMC with embedded support for Kubernetes, and then there is the mess that is the current Tanzu product portfolio. We'll see what survives at BC.
