Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Why are you staying?

No offense to anyone but curious what at this point is keeping people from finding a new position outside Nielsen?

I actually like the research sector. I have friends at Comscore and Kantar and Nielsen seems less bad thus far. The gap is getting smaller and smaller though between all of them. It seems like Experian might be the place to be.

I didn't resign because they paid us TWICE what they should have been paying. The good thing about Nielsen was being able to easily peg the 401k contributions!

Because the work we do is mysterious and important.

Being able to work from home & able to kind of provide for my child. When I get the ax I will be royally sc--wed. You can catch me outside pushing a Walmart cart & dumpster diving.

The checks keep cashing and it’s easy money. I just play video games most of the day and don’t worry about it. Waiting it out for a final check.

"Fu-k! They mention DEI everywhere on their website, I wouldn't work there, that's when the trouble started at Nielsen! "

God I hope you're not a Field Rep or MR...

Fast food is hiring. People put on your big pants. Yeah I retired from this company. Otherwise better figure out how to survive on Florida unemployment benefits. This is the reason US companies off shore all the jobs. Yes I worked with India and PI. Great coworkers.

The benefits were good and the paycheck was good, at least for me. I left a while ago because I didn’t like the direction the business was heading. I guess I could have stayed a while longer but the stress levels were increasing significantly and I basically had enough of the demand. I don’t mind working hard, but they complained about overtime which was pretty much required working in the field.

For me personally, I should have left years ago when the micromanaging started, but now I just feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. I’ve been applying for positions outside of Nielsen that catch my eye or intrigue me, but I strongly dislike change. Also I’m lazy af.

I've looked at Circana, but it doesn't look like they have anything that a Field Rep could do

I am not sure what you do but I currently work at circana after being laid off from Nielsen and the benefits are very similar! The culture is too (compared to pre-covid/privatizing the company)

There's no point. The ones that could leave have left, the ones that still stay (like myself) know deep inside that we won't find anything like it anywhere else in the world, so we just su-k it up and keep having our pay check, unlimited vacation, etc.
