Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Are layoffs actually being announced today?

Are folks actually getting notified today or is what I’m reading here just bs?

Layoffs will be announced on state run media by dear supreme leader.

Yes that number is still there, and after the rif last year it went down roughly consistent with the 700 folks they announced. After Jan 1 it went down like 250 people due to RTO departures.

It doesn’t visibly change though unless there’s a substantial cut. When there are more surgical cuts here and there, as HAS been happening, you won’t see it. The company is hiring at the same time, people are coming and going as you’d expect in a company of 80k+ people. Plus, if people are getting laid off now, they likely are still on the books until the end of March.

I used to keep a log of the headcount total in Fidelity Central as a way to track if a RIF (layoff) happened.

Is that number still there on Fidelity Central ?

From what I've heard, the impacted employees were asked to "keep it confidential"

But I assume for a lot of them, they don't GAF at this point.

I'm also assuming individuals making post who were gone effective immediately instead of few who will "help in transition" for the next two weeks, some for three months as part of their package
