Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Farewell

Xerox was home for over a decade. I learned quickly how to navigate dysfunction and became an expert at it and it paid off for a long time. Then I was IRIF’d. Found a job quickly and am never looking back. Good riddance. It’s nice to have new opportunities with businesses that aren’t in decline.

The decline in the business model isn’t going to stop. Buying Lexmark, taking marketshare and finding revenue in me too cr-p isn’t going to fix it either. Xerox is delaying death at this point.

I wish you all well, but to those left. Leave! The stress, reinventing into what? Ain’t worth it!

Get out while you can. Xerox will just continue to do what they’ve always done. Destroy everything they touch. No matter how many town halls you get from Dunkin Donuts (SB) and Camaro, gold chains and hairplugs (JB) it ain’t gonna work.

They’re just putting lipstick on a pig and calling it reinvention.

It's not your place to tell anyone to leave. Do you what works for you and let others make their own decisions.

I'm staying. Have a nice day.

Nail on the head right there, most of us long termers who aren’t in the exec club are just holding out for IIRF. Sad times

"They HAD great potential back in the PARC days and the talent there if they could have monetized it."

PARC started its decline when MSFT, Oracle, Apple, etc. started hiring in the region, paying high salaries, and corporate HR could not figure out how to retain employees at PARC.
Name a product that came out of there in the last 40 years...

Everything is outsourced or offshored. Talent is released. Innovation is released. You are not
going to dig out of a business hole by hiring your workforce on a contract basis. I was IRFd a while back. Shockingly at the time but I got thru it. Now looking back it’s just sad with the status of current X. So much opportunity lost with good people gone. Everyone is just treading water and hoping to get a severance or some other buy out. C suite is only catering to investors and stock. No clue as to what their customers actually want or need. They HAD great potential back in the PARC days and the talent there if they could have monetized it. Understand people hanging on to a job instead of the unknown market but start getting prepped for the good bye meeting. Sadly it’s coming for most if not all at some point. Really should have sold to Fuji way back.
