Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

No mass layoffs in the near future?

Mass layoffs are over for NetApp. Now that the C-suite have realized the cost saving benefits of tracking, then we-ponizing employee RTO metrics they'll favor GAPs/PIPs-based evaluations directly linked to RTO. I can't say they'll never go back to the mass layoff model. It's certain that what many call backdoor layoffs will be the de facto method moving forward. My guess is the company may have. a planned fixed amount of headcount reduction every 2-4 quarters or so.

I think the days massive layoffs are certainly over. What do the people say?

Wrong. Layoffs are coming. People will be notified at the end of April to get them off the books for the new year.

So which is it?

Yep - put me on a PIP and all I will do is just say "why bother" give me 3 months money and I'll go now - much better than having a malingerer around for 3 months sowing discord.

With the "at will" employment model in the US - easy just to throw a few dollars at the poor unfortunate and wave good bye the same day.

Nonsense. How long waiting for a review, GAP/PIP? How many months’ salary for an average serverance package?
