Situation is what it is. I agree with all the posts regarding the disconnect between what is said publicly by executives and what actually happens behind the scenes. My thought process is that they will get out of RK and will slowly sell/close all unprofitable areas. They will front with Nuveen and bring the DA(GA) back to 1952 with just Tiaa Traditional and core annuity funds. Then they will become just add on to other Institutions. They can then close many sites and reduce workforce by 90%. I have to think there's talk with Chase and others already in motion , I could be wrong but I'm done in December 2025 and I don't care anymore, I've given my soul to this company and learned a valuable lesson , TIAA is not the gem I thought I found 10 years ago and at the end of the day EEs here are just numbers and eventual liabilities that should expect nothing less then shady and deceptive tricks when it's layoff time. I get it Cash is King and it's not about us, it's about the solvency of TIAA and their literal survival. Just su-ks as I will miss the amazingly generous and talented people immensely.

Make no mistake, the company has gone after former advisors in order to show other advisors that they can make your life miserable after you leave. The message is clear, “Don’t touch our clients, even if they try to follow you”.. I know one advisor whose neighbor was a client. When the prof./neighbor followed the advisor, the company tied the advisor up in litigation that cost them just under 100 thousand. Wouldn’t it be ironic if someone like that was then motivated to file a whistleblower case that cost the company 100 million??
I have seen instances where SD and his cronies fired folks, then when they hired folks who were critical resources, they sued/ threatened to sue using the non compete clause. I know one instance where they made a major consulting company fire a previous employee threatening with lawsuit and loss of business
Id--ts writing this BS.
TIAA has sued at least 15-20 former wealth advisors (maybe more) in the past 5 years. You can find this information on the PACER system (Public Access to Court Electronic Records).
Lots of interesting cases to read both of TIAA suing former employees and of TIAA being sued.
Stop posting this BS and go back to doing your job. Nonsense from TIAA employees never ends.
I'll bite... please give any actual proof of this one-
"They actively silence the voices of employees and whistleblowers through litigation and discrediting them."
I can't find ANY litigation where TIAA has sued an employee. I see lots of anti-vaxxers suing TIAA (and losing their cases, so dont get all high and might about vaccines). Where do u guys get this stuff from?
Too bad the only people here who had inside info all apparently left to go to Accenture. The posts that are left are just bubkis.
Sadly what you describe is Corporate America. TIAA is no different than any other major corporation. They use to be different.
I’ve learned to view things at TIAA in 3 buckets.
Bucket 1 - the things you can control
Bucket 2 - the things you can influence
Bucket 3 - the things you can’t control
Most things at TIAA are in bucket 3. Keep that in mind and go on with your day. It will help keep your mental health in check. Be happy.
I’ll be a couple months short of 20 years here when my severance hits since not I refuse to move to Texas.
TIAA used to be great company to work for. Last 3 years really destroyed this company further than it was already in the decline mode. Now it’s in shambles with a lot of brown nosers and yes people. Was a shame because I was really looking forward to my 20th year. Oh well. Hopefully I find a job soon after my end date hits so I can pay back all the loans from lack of raises for 3+ years now.
I think so long as the big wigs keep their shameless self promotion of personal and company purchased “awards” and controlling the narrative then their image is good publicly.
They actively silence the voices of employees and whistleblowers through litigation and discrediting them. Until employees or institutions or participants get a big enough voice against TIAA’s shady practices, it won’t matter to the company.
Agreed, I’ve been with the company 7 years and it used to be great. They’ve messed me over numerous times and continue to do so until my expiration date. I’m done giving anything to this sh---y shameless company.
