Local chairman

Mechanical supervisor is telling carman that the local chairman is telling them to “handle” guys . How are they suppose to trust that they are getting fair representation and isn’t that a reason to have him removed from that position?

Calm down. “handle” in this context most likely means something like “talk to him. Tell him to not be such an id--t or I’ll have to handle it.”

The supervisor could be lying to disrupt, fracture, or weaken your union local. I would call the ethics department.

If the local chairman reports safety or training issues, retaliation would be illegal.
